Milla: "I'm very happy to represent such a great club"
The RCD Espanyol player reflects on his 100 appearances
Whilst RCD Espanyol were denied a share of the points late on against Real Madrid last Saturday, the game did have something to celebrate, as Pere Milla reached his 100th appearance for Espanyol.
In his fourth season with the club, the versatile player has many fond memories of his time at the RCDE Stadium to date. Asked to pick one, he said that “every game means a lot, because because wearing this shirt is something special, but if I had to choose one, it would be the game against Oviedo in the Segunda División playoff final, because it meant the club got back to where it belongs.”
Speaking of his 14 goals, he says he will always remember “the header last season against Atletico Madrid. It was unique.”
“Years ago I said I hoped I could play here, and finally it happened. This is my fourth season at RCD Espanyol, and I'm very happy to represent such a great club. We're always moving forward.”
Finally, looking ahead to the next game, away to Real Sociedad in San Sebastián, he emphasised that “last year we were close to winning there, but it slipped away at the end. So now it's our turn to get the victory.”
