El Hilali: "We've done some self-criticism"

The defender speaks about the return to LaLiga action

After a long international break, RCD Espanyol return to action this Friday away to Málaga CF. Defender Omar El Hilali spoke to the media this Tuesday to reflect on how the team have approached the absence of LaLiga competition.

“We’ve done some self-criticism and are correcting what we did wrong before the break. We need to win this weekend, by any means necessary. We might have lost to Elche CF in our last game, but in football you can’t dwell on the last match; you have to focus on the next one," he commented.

“Manolo González is just like he always is: Full of drive and really pushing us hard. Both he and the team are determined to turn the situation around and get the win this Friday. He’s a coach who knows how to manage the dressing room and always demands a lot from us," El Hilali continued, before stating what he thinks a win will do for the squad.

"A victory makes everything look different, and I hope to keep improving week by week on an individual level, just like the team.”
